Description:
Please note! This Monstera is not recommended if you have little or no experience with the care and keeping of tropical plants.
Due to the amount of white, the plants are extremely sensitive. Especially to drought and overexposure! But with the right care and experience, you can also make these special plants live and grow.
This is an extremely rare variety of the Monstera adansonii, namely the Monstera adansonii Variegata 'Albo'. It is probably even rarer than its yellow sister, the Monstera adansonii Variegata Aurea.
This plant does require the same care as its yellow sister. It is a climbing plant and with the right guidance (for example by means of a moss stick) can climb up with its aerial roots.
This beauty also likes a higher humidity combined with a lot of indirect light. This is because the plant originally comes from a rainforest. With higher humidity, the plant always feels better and will grow better. In addition, the plant needs more light than the ordinary adansonii because it produces fewer chloroplasts due to the white spots in its leaves. Chloroplasts in a plant are responsible for photosynthesis. If a plant has fewer chloroplasts, it can produce less energy through photosynthesis and will therefore need more indirect light in order to do its utmost. Never place a plant with white parts in direct sunlight, the white parts will burn.
As for watering, this plant likes regular care (watering once a week). The plant likes a slightly moist soil, but not wet soil. This fantastic plant also likes an airy soil, one that is permeable to air and water.
Despite the fact that the common adansonii is a fairly easy plant to keep, this version is a little more sensitive because of the white spots.
