Description:
The rare Monstera epipremnoides was described by Adolf Engler in 1908. The plant originates from Central America, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. The special feature of this Monstera is its large holes in the leaf. Monstera Epipremnoides is a plant belonging to the arum family. It resembles the Monstera adansonii, but with its exceptionally larger leaves with more and larger holes in them, this plant has a more unusual appearance. The leaves are shiny and light green in colour and the texture of the leaf feels like leather.
In the rain forest, this plant was mostly found under large trees, so it likes high humidity and filtered sunlight. It is said that this plant can make leaves between 35 and 55 cm long when mature.
Due to its unique appearance, this plant is becoming increasingly expensive. There is currently more demand than supply. If you have this plant in your home now, you know that you have something special.
You can make this plant grow and climb thanks to its air roots. In the wild, they grow up against tall trees, among other things. They need the sturdiness of a tree or, for example, a moss stick in order to grow bigger. So you can determine the shape of the plant yourself!
